Titled One Direction: Where We Are: Our Band, Our Story, their book will be released on August 27, just days before their film hits theaters. Yesterday (May 21) the band released the book cover to fans via Twitter and the 1D newsletter.

The only official book from the band, Where We Are: Our Band, Our Story, follows their journey throughout the past year and a half. It includes their “thoughts and feelings, hopes and dreams, highs and lows.”

The film, due out August 30, promises to also give a behind the scenes look of the band, as the video trailers show the band backstage, on tour and during music video and photo shoots as well as showcasing their practical joke side.

In a humorous, but fact-filled PSA, Olivia Wilde, Bono and Richard Branson announce they are joining Matt Damon’s toilet strike to raise awareness about the global water crisis.

In the definition of promises they can’t keep (but it’s the sentiment that counts), the three celebs pledge, “We won’t go to the bathroom until everyone in the world has access to clean water and sanitation.”

“I remember when Matt first brought up the idea, it was at a meeting of the illuminati,” Bono says.

“Bono was so mad,” Wilde chimes in. “Oy! Damon! Who let you into our secret illuminati meeting?”

But joking aside, the trio draws attention to just how serious the water situation is by presenting some disturbing statistics:

“780 million people, that’s one in nine, lacks access to safe water,” Bono says.

Which is why Damon co-founded Water.org — in collaboration with Gary White — in an effort to help come up with solutions to the water crisis so that all people have access to safe water and sanitation.

Thus far, the organization has helped more than 1 million people living in Africa, South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. And it’s Damon’s passion and success that drew Wilde to the movement (or lack of movement, if you catch my drift).

“I want to support creative organizations that truly impact the lives of those in need, particularly those living in extreme poverty,” Wilde said in a statement. “Water.org makes a real difference around the world, and in Haiti, a country that I care deeply about.”

With help from a keyboard and a drum machine, Charli made the song all her own giving it the same synth-pop feel of her recently released full-length debut, True Romance. She slowed things down and took a darker approach to the love song, making lines like “But we are two worlds apart/Can’t reach to your heart” sound much more desperate and heartbroken than BSB ever did.

But the writer of Icona Pop’s “I Love It,” who described herself to Radio.com as “Wednesday Addams meets Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice meets Baby Spice,” kept things fun. She whispered lines of the chorus, handled the five-part harmony all on her own, and even threw in a little giggle before launching into Nick Carter’s epic solo. She then ended her rendition with a very sincere shout-out, “Big up to the Backstreet Boys.”

Styled To Rock is a Project Runway-esque show produced by Rihanna, where a group of contestants create original looks. The U.K. series featured a chance for the winner to outfit Rihanna in concert, but no clear prize has been attached to the U.S. show yet.

The reality competition also offers its contestant mentors. Pharrell has signed on for the U.S. version, along with Victoria’s Secret model/designer Erin Wasson.

Pickler shared her win with her professional dance partner Derek Hough. During Tuesday night’s finale, they were competing against Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy.

When season 16 began, Kellie was one of two country artists on the program. Fellow dancer Wynonna Judd, though, was voted off in April.

Other stars competing this season included actor Andy Dick, figure skating champ Dorothy Hamill, football star Jacoby Jones, and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.

“Chad [Petree, guitarist/vocalist] and I have been chasing storms since we were 16,” Dawson told Radio.com today (May 21) in an interview. “With my birthday falling on May 19, normally what I do every year is fly home and spend two or three weeks out in ‘Tornado Alley’ chasing storms and working with local emergency management people. But we got hired on to work on The Voice, so I was not able to go this year.”

Instead, he was in Los Angeles on the morning of his birthday when he received a call from his father in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to let him know that something was brewing in the atmosphere back home.

“I looked online to check the upper air readings, and they were extremely bad,” Dawson explained. “My day was done. All I did for the rest of the day was sit in the studio and watch radar. The tornado did this thing called a hook echo, where it begins to wrap inside itself. I ran a scan on it, and the trajectory point was right towards the city of Shawnee, a little tiny town where my dad is sitting in a wheel chair and Chad and I grew up. Sure enough, an EF-4 class tornado drops down, five minutes later a twin tornado drops down behind it, both heading straight for Shawnee.”

(The National Weather Service would go on to elevate the twister’s status to category EF-5, which is the most severe of all tornadoes with winds of at least 200 mph.)

Coach Blake Shelton, an Oklahoma native, and wife Miranda Lambert opened the show with an emotional rendition of the song “Over You,” in honor of those affected by the disaster. (Watch the performance below.)

This season’s top 10 then shrunk down to eight, with viewers votes determining which two singers were sent home.

Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake) and Judith Hill (Team Adam) were the first ones to be declared safe. They were soon joined by Michelle Chamuel (Team Usher) and Sasha Allen (Team Shakira).

Then, Sarah Simmons (Team Adam) was deemed safe, followed by Holly Tucker (Team Blake), Amber Carrington (Team Adam) and the Swon Brothers (Team Blake).

That meant that Josiah Hawley (Team Usher) and Kris Thomas (Team Shakira) had been eliminated.

With their exits, newcomer “Voice” coaches Shakira and Usher only have one singer apiece left in the competition, while veterans Levine and Shelton have three each.

The remaining eight singers will return to the stage next week for another round of performances.
