Black Eyed Peas member Taboo is sharing his cancer fight with the world. In 2014, the MC was diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer after checking himself into an emergency room for severe body pain following a concert.
He has since gone through 12 weeks of chemotherapy and is now in remission. Two years after his diagnosis, Taboo is telling his story in an effort to help others suffering with cancer. In addition, all proceeds from his new single, “The Fight,” will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Taboo has shared some of his journey through a series of Instagram posts of photos with his family and doctors and provided some insight into his difficult third round of chemotherapy.
“I can move on with my life because of the blessings that I have received but this part of #Th3FIGHT will always remind me to keep fighting on no matter what,” he writes about his chemo treatment. “Nothing prepares u for Chemo it’s like #war #torture and a #nightmare all in one.”
