Paddling out past the break. Catching a Giants game. Jamming to classic punk rock. Taking a stroll with his loyal lab Willa. Teaching his 3-year-old daughter to skateboard. These are just a handful of things that make Vinnie Hasson a “happy dude.”
Now you can add “admiring his new kitchen remodel from Cambria” to the list. As Radio Alice listeners know, interior design isn’t one of Vinnie’s frequent topics of conversation, so he’s a little surprised about his enthusiasm for the renovation in his Santa Cruz home—initially worrying it seemed “stupid to be excited about a kitchen.” But with results like this, he can’t help but want to show it off.
AFTER: Vinnies’s new kitchen
The before-and-after images of Vinnie’s kitchen makeover say it all—going from outdated colors and a cramped feel, to a sleek white kitchen with a beachy vibe and more open space.
BEFORE: Vinnie’s kitchen before the renovation
Vinnie’s remodel process began with a tour of the new Cambria Gallery in the SoMa District. At the gallery, he learned about the benefits of Cambria and got up close and personal with their full-size quartz slabs. With so many intricate designs and stunning colors to choose from, Vinnie took home a few product samples to help him decide. After a few weeks of reviewing design choices for his countertop, he selected “Kirkstead™,” a simple and sophisticated design with a soft texture reminiscent of the sandy beaches Vinnie loves. The cream color of the natural stone countertop was a great complement to his other design choices: beige flooring, white cabinets, a seafoam subway-tile backsplash, and modern, stainless steel appliances. And by opting for a slimmer and taller fridge model, Vinnie was able to add more counter space and really open up the kitchen.
Whether he’s off to hit the air waves or catch the ocean waves, Vinnie needs a kitchen that supports his active lifestyle. That’s why, in addition to the beautiful design, he loves the wipe-and-go convenience of Cambria. And as a dad to a young daughter, he really appreciates the durability and safety of Cambria—it’s scratch and stain-resistant, and also nonporous (meaning no harmful bacteria is absorbed). So he’s able to cook and entertain in his new kitchen without worry or ongoing maintenance.
Vinnie found the installation process to be a breeze, and enjoyed working with his local dealer, Adney and Sons, a family business in Santa Cruz. Kirk Adney worked closely with Cambria—also a family-owned company headquartered in Minnesota—every step of the way. Overall, the measurement and fabrication process was smooth and easy, with a seamless final installation—the custom-fabricated Cambria fit perfectly on top of the kitchen cabinets.
Now we can see why Vinnie is “100% super stoked” on his kitchen redo. Let him know what you think of his new kitchen in the page comments or on Instagram!
