San Francisco Will Soon Welcome A Ping Pong-Themed Bar Owned By Susan Sarandon

Did you get all that? It was a bit of a mouthful, but it’s true: Susan Sarandon will soon own a real bar called Spin that will house 16 ping pong tables.

Spin will open in its futuristic-looking new digs at 690 Folsom at some point this winter, as the sixth bar in Spin’s growing franchise chain (other locations include New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Brussels, and soon, Chicago).

“We are thrilled to announce the next location in the SPiN family is the beautiful city of San Francisco,” the announcement reads. “Its unbelievable nightlife, sports, cocktail and food culture are an inspiration to us and we are honored to become a part of the community.”

The restaurant will feature “2 bars, 16 ping-pong tables including patio-pong, private rooms, and full kitchen.” The restaurant hasn’t yet listed their menu, but their site’s catering list offers nosh found at upscale bars: grass-fed beef sliders, charcuterie and cheese plates, flatbread pizza, and mini braised short rib sandwiches, for example.

In addition, of course, Spin will feature a full bar.

Stay tuned to their website for their exact opening date.
