It seems we aren’t the only ones thoroughly excited for the new Ghostbusters film on its way to theaters. The film has already made a fan out of one of the original film’s former stars: Dan Aykroyd.
And it seems it he wasn’t quite able to leave the franchise. One of the original Ghostbusters (whose “heart soars” for the new cast) was asked to make a little return to the set, as he recently tweeted.
“On GB set shooting my scene with funny beautiful Kristen Wiig Lady GB’s are adorable, hilarious and badass Exhilarating! #ghostbusters,” he wrote.
The actor subsequently deleted the post — he likely ruined the surprise of his cameo, oops — but Entertainment Weekly caught the screenshot.
No word yet on what role Aykroyd will play, but the site Indie Revolver speculates that he’ll be playing a driver for a cab that Kristen Wiig’s character is attempting to enter.
At some point in the scene, Aykroyd says “I ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts,” to which Wiig responds something like, “That’s a double negative! That means you ARE afraid of ghosts!”
“Ghostbusters” will be in theaters July 22, 2016.
