Trump Uses Neil Young Song At Campaign Rally, Didn’t Get Permission First

Another campaign kerfuffle today over the misuse of someone’s music – today it was Donald Trump, newly announced Republican presidential candidate, vs. rocker Neil Young who’s… well, let’s just say diametrically opposed politically to Trump’s politics.

First of all, there’s the concept of “intellectual property” – meaning that if it’s someone else’s idea, you really should get their permission before you use it. Second, did Trump even listen to the lyrics of Young’s song “Rockin’ in the Free World” before he used it at his campaign rally? I don’t think it means what Trump thinks it means.

Not only did Neil not take kindly to the unauthorized use of his song – he also endorsed someone else. Surprise surprise. Here’s the scoop...
