The New Taco Bell Opening In SoMa Goes Loco With Plans To Sell Beer, Wine, And Frozen Drinks

Taco Bell, that stuff you now regret eating after the bars closed last night, has just unveiled their plans for their new franchise location slated to open at the corner of 3rd and Townsend in SoMa: alcohol.

We had already heard that a location in Chicago was experimenting with the idea of adding a little booze to the menu, and it looks like that concept just made its way west.

As SF Eater reports, San Francisco will be one of the first markets to test out the bebidas alcohólicas, and thus begins the endless cycle of nursing your hangover with a chalupa and a beer, after which you’ll nurse your hangover with a chalupa and a beer, after which you’ll nurse your hangover with a chalupa and a beer, after which…

The new location will appear a little more upscale and will serve the normal Taco Bell menu, but there’s no word yet on when the location will open.

We’ve reached out to Taco Bell Corp, and they’ve issued this response:

We’re building a completely new Taco Bell concept and design in San Francisco. It’s part of expansion into new urban markets. The new restaurant will feature the same craveable, affordable, Mexican-inspired tastes at Taco Bell, along with a new line of appetizers, beer and wine.
