Watch: Chicago Dyes Its River Green In This Awesome Timelapse

InĀ 1961, a Chicago plumber had the brilliant idea to turn the Chicago River green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

Decades later, the city still dyes the water (with the eco-friendly vegetable oil) and this year, a man named Kurt Miller got the whole thing on camera.

Watch this amazing time-lapse of the great dyeing of 2015 from last Saturday’s festivities.
