Sing Your Indie-Loving Heart Out At ‘The Karaoke Underground’ (And Play Ping Pong)

By Alyssa Pereira

Do you ever go to karaoke and look at the list and think, “Jesus, where the hell is all the good stuff? For real, where’are all the Joy Division tracks?? Nothing even from The Postal Service? Spoon? The Yeah Yeah FREAKING YEAHS?”

Guess what.

You’re going to want to see this song list. This, my dear tone deaf friend, is the epic underground song list curated by the folks at Karaoke Underground, a karaoke-facilitating group of music fans who will be bringing their refreshing catalog to SF’s Rickshaw Stop April 12.

Between your carefully selected renditions of New Order’s “Confusion” and Hot Hot Heat’s “This Town”, you can get in on some ping pong matches, thanks to the folks at “American Tripps Berlin-Style Ping Pong Party.”

Yep. Ping pong and punk karaoke.

This will be a weird party, but hey — you’re invited.

Get tickets here.
