If you are a self-described “hippie” you may want to steer clear of the Upper Haight—the Bubble Stroller Guy is looking to catch you.
It’s just another day in San Francisco, and the aforementioned anonymous Bubble Stroller Guy has created a trap he believes will lure you unsuspecting “feral hippies” directly into his sinister clutches.
Or, more accurately, into the view of his hidden camera, so he can watch and laugh at you be entranced by the LED light display he has set up to hang above the sidewalk.
And he has created a Facebook page for it, where he describes the project as having “a catch-and-release policy” where “hippies are released in northern Mendocino to forage for marijuana in their natural environment.”
As Hoodline reports, it’s all pretty intricate.
“It’s 1800 LEDs suspended from a wiffle ball and a giant hula hoop (actually two hula hoops spliced together) doing crazy apes*** trippy patterns,” Bubble Stroller Guy says. “It uses about 300 watts when they’re all at full blast, but on average it’s the equivalent of a pair of old-style lightbulbs. It updates at 60 frames/sec which makes it nice and fluid looking.”
Just in case you get caught during your curious gander, just remember the words of its creator:
