According to Wealth-X, an ultra high net worth (UHNW) intelligence and prospecting firm based in Singapore, Stanford School of Business ranks second in the world in number of billionaire alumni.
The Bay Area school has 23 billionaires in the schools past including Nike founder Phil Knight, Charles R. Schwab, former Microsoft CEO and Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, and India’s 2nd riches person Mukesh Ambani. Though it is an impressive list it pales in comparison to leader Harvard University. The Boston, Mass school can claim a whopping 63 billionaire alums.
Five other US business schools made the list Columbia University (3rd), University of Pennsylvania (4th), University of Chicago (5th), New York University (7th), and University of Southern California (9th).
By the numbers provide by Wealth-X, it means that over 15% of world’s current billionaires have a MBA from the one of the top 10 schools.
