San Francisco Is Getting A 25-Foot Mobile Pizza Trolley

By Alyssa Pereira

When tourists think of San Francisco, the first things they think about are our trolleys. They’re famously the “mobile landmarks” of the United States, and these days, a ride on one of them will set you back $6.

But we love them, not just because they’re super fun to ride, but also because they represent the fact that in San Francisco, we try to live every moment to the fullest—down to our public transit methods.

We import them from all over, and currently our cable car fleet has cars from all over the United States and Europe, as well as a couple from Australia and one from Japan.

So we weren’t surprised when we heard was was headed out way from Florida.

We were surprised when we found out that it’s not for riding—it’s for pizza.

The trolley, which will be an extension of Mozzeria in the Mission, isn’t messing around. They have pie quality certification from Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (which we don’t really know about, but it sure sounds important) and will contain a wood-burning oven that cooks pies in 90 seconds.

Want to keep up with the pizza pie tour as the trolley moves across the country? Check out their blog.
