Oakland’s Cat Town Cafe Is Now Taking Reservations!

By Alyssa Pereira

Could we BE any more excited for Oakland’s Cat Town Cafe?

(Nope.)

The cafe will juxtapose adorable cats with artisan snacks and locally-produced coffee, which is the stuff our dreams are made of.

Founders Ann Dunn and Adam Myatt (who is in the Oakland electronic pop duo James & Evander) announced their grand opening for October 25 at 29th and Broadway in Oakland, along with launching the website to book 60 minute feline hang-out seshes.

“It’s kind of insane—never in my life did I foresee this coming,” Myatt told SF Gate, “but it’s felt really special the last two weeks actually seeing the people and cats interact in this space.”

Of course, the cafe will be separate from the Cat Zone for health reasons, but it will still be worth a visit. They’ve hooked vendors like Bicycle Coffee and Authentic Bagel Co. and more. The Cat Zone will not only house cats ready to play, but also showcase cats ready for adoption, in an effort to get more out of local pounds and into permanent homes.

For more information on the cafe (and obviously, booking), head to their site.
