Thousands of music fans poured into Sharon Meadow in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park for Alice@97.3’s free Now & Zen Fest on Sunday afternoon.
The concert opened up with YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling. Stirling brought her animated and unique violin playing to the stage wowing the crowd with her boisterous performance.
Fellow concert performer Matt Nathanson described her performance as being “transported to like Mars where they have Renaissance Fairs with all beautiful people.”
She finished her set with rousing version of her single “Shatter Me.”

Next up was American Authors. The percussive set was a huge hit with the crowd with front man Zac Barnett interacting with crowd throughout. The crowd clapped and sang along to much of the set culminating in their hit “Best Day Of My Life.” The band also dedicated “Hit It” on stage to Jayn, Alice DJ and Music Director.

Local hero and Alice favorite Matt Nathanson took the stage next and entertained the crowd with his unique mixture of music, banter and pop culture covers. In addition to his hit singles like “Headphones,” “Faster,” “Run,” “Come On Get Higher,” and more, Matt busted out his cover of James “Laid,” Grease’s “The One That I Want,” and a sing-along version of Meghan Trainor’s “All About The Bass.”

Neon Trees finished off the day with a frenetic set of their chart topping hits. The crowd screamed along to “Animal,” “Sleeping with a Friend,” and more. Tyler and the band made a perfect end to a great day of free music in the park.
