Streaming service Hulu.com has announced a partnership with Stephen King, JJ Abrams, and Warner Brothers TV to make a nine-hour series out of King’s best selling 11/22/63 novel.
Abrams, King, writer Bridget Carpenter (The Red Road, Friday Night Lights) and Bryan Burk are all on board as executive producers and the mini-series is slated to debut in 2015.
The international best seller 11/22/63 is the story of Jake Epping, a thirty-five-year-old high school English teacher in Maine. Jake get told the secret of a time portal to 1958 where he is tasked to stop the assassination of John F Kennedy.
“If I ever wrote a book that cries out for long-form, event TV programming,” wrote Stephen King in a statement, “11/22/63 is it.”
“With the talented team of producers bringing the story to life,” stated Craig Erwich, Hulu’s Senior Vice President and Head of Content, “we are confident that 11/22/63 will be an event series that our viewers will love.
