Alice brought the bands, Mother Nature brought the grand weather and thousands of Bay Area music fans brought the excitement and good vibes to Sharon Meadow for Alice’s annual free Summerthing concert. This years lineup consisted of Us the Duo, Kodaline, Ingrid Michaelson, and MAGIC! all taking the stage in Golden Gate Park.

-
Us The Duo opened the day of music. The married folk duo of Michael and Carissa Rae Alvarado were able to make their set in front of thousands feel just as intimate as the viral wedding video of “No Matter Where You Are.” Michael explained on stage that most of their songs were “love songs” because the two were simply “in love.”

-

Next up was Ireland’s Kodaline who turned up the energy with a spirited set. They went through songs from their debut LP In a Perfect World and the crowd loved it.

Ingrid Michaelson then took the stage to perform her ukulele washed style of pop. The crowd reveled as she went through her early hits like “The Way I Am” and “Be OK” and her current single “Girls Chase Boys.”

-

Rounding out the day of music was Toronto pop reggae newcomers MAGIC!. Though new on scene, MAGIC! delivered a spirited and crowd pleasing set of upbeat songs. They finished with a full crowd sing-a-long rednition of their hit single “Rude.”

A great day of music and fun in the sun in Golden Gate Park is a rarity. Rarer still is have the price tag of $0. Plus we got this epic selfie courtesy of the Sarah and Vinnie Show!
