Santa Clara Couple Paints Their Home to Look Like Pixar’s ‘Up’ House

By Alyssa Pereira

A Santa Clara couple delighted their daughters when they painted their Victorian style home to look like the house in Disney and Pixar’s Up—but the rest of the neighborhood isn’t too thrilled about it.

Hosam Haggog and Fatima Rahman painted their house in cotton candy hues and brightened its decorative trim in a very Up-worthy fashion. The house is on the oldest street in Santa Clara, alongside some homes aged over 100 years. According to the couple, the neighborhood kids love it, but not everyone shares the fun sentiment.

Some residences feel that the couple did not secure the proper permits required to maintain a cohesive neighborhood feel, and that the colors make the house “up to look like a clown,” as one resident told NBC. Another said it doesn’t “fit in.”

On the other hand, some residents feel that it’s time to accept it and move on. Check out the video below, and view the original on NBC.com.
