Los Angeles Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Reportedly Makes Racist Comments
TMZ Sports dropped a bombshell on the NBA when they released audio of Clippers owner Donald Sterling reportedly making racist comments to his girlfriend.
The audio, which has yet to be verified as authentic, has changed the discussion of X’s and O’s surrounding the first round match-up between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The NBA released a statement confirming that they are investigating the TMZ report.
“We are in the process of conducting a full investigation into the audio recording obtained by TMZ. The remarks heard on the recording are disturbing and offensive, but at this time we have no further information.”
Magic Johnson, who was specifically mentioned in the audio as not welcome at Clippers games, responded via twitter to the controversy.
I feel sorry for my friends Coach Doc Rivers and Chris Paul that they have to work for a man that feels that way about African Americans.—

Sports writers, stars, and the general public have been very vocal about the need to get rid of Sterling specifically and hate speech in general. Snoop Dog had a particularly pointed and NSFW response to the incident.
We will have to wait and see how fans and players on both sides respond at Sunday’s playoff game in Oakland.
