Six Penguin Movies For ‘World Penguin Day’

Today is World Penguin Day and that got us thinking about both the tuxedo wearing water fowl and the Gotham City villain. We’ve posted some places around the Bay Area where you can see penguins live but here are some of the best penguins on the silver screen.

Surf’s Up (2007)

The animated mockumentary of Cody Maverick – the surfing Penguin. The film features the voice acting of Shia LaBeouf, Jeff Bridges, Zooey Deschanel, and more.

Mary Poppins (1964)

Once of the most famous scenes from this family classic involves Dick Van Dyke and a group of penguins dancing together.

Happy Feet (2006)

Animated feature about an outcast turned hero Emperor Penguin named Mumble. The Oscar winning film had a sequel Happy Feet Two in 2011.

Batman Returns (1992)

Danny DeVito donned the monocle and top hat as the flippered super villain in the second installment of the nineties Batman series.
