Scott O’Connor “Half World”

Project MKUltra.

Sounds like something in a hit TV show…actually, Ultra is a weird government agency in a TV show called The Tomorrow People.

MKUltra was the super-secret, illegal operation run by the CIA between 1953 and 1973.  The goal was to develop ways to control the minds of people…the enemy…

The way to find out if this was possible? Use unwitting American and Canadian citizens in experiments. Some Universities also participated so the students would know that they were participating in some sort of research, but they didn’t really know what it was about…

The other participants didn’t volunteer to participate. The operation set up shop in New York City and San Francisco. Apartments were rented and furnished…prostitutes were hired to lure men back to the apartments…and then the men were drugged…

MKUltra, a program that went public amidst Senate hearings in 1973, was the inspiration for the new novel Half World by Scott O’Connor:
