The Best Cover Songs Dropped this Month feat. Metallica, BANKS & More

By Alyssa Pereira

Maybe it’s the spring in the air, or maybe it’s the whole rebirth-y milieu about March but in any case, a lot of ass-kicking song revivals came out this month.

It’s easy to love cover songs, and even easier to be a fan when they are well done. So, without any more ado about it, here are this month’s best cover songs.

5. The War on Drugs covers John Lennon’s “Mind Games”

For a better quality sound on this one, head to the Soundcloud page.

4. London Grammar covers INXS’s “Devil Inside” (for Game of Thrones)

3. BANKS covers Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody”

2. Sadie Dupuis (of Speedy Ortiz) covers Josie & the Pussycats’ “Pretend to be Nice”

(Released through San Francisco’s local label Father/Daughter for Record Store Day!)

1. Metallica covers Dio with a medley for their upcoming tribute album, This is Your Life, dropping April 1

Unfortunately, we can’t embed this one, but you can listen to it over here at their Soundcloud page.
