‘The Hobbit’ Tops Most Pirated Films Of 2013

We’ve already shared that “Game of Thrones” was 2013’s most pirated television show – now we’ve got your list of the most pirated movies of 2013.

Topping this year’s chart, published by TorrentFreak, is part one on Peter Jackson’s trilogy “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” Part one of the film imagining of the Tolkien classic was release in December of 2012 and along with making more than $1 billion at the global box office it was illegally downloaded an estimated 8.4 million times. The list is based on multiple sources including download statistics reported by public BitTorrent trackers, but does not include online streaming or cyberlocker downloads.

“The Hobbit” was closely followed by Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” (8.1 million downloads) and “Fast & Furious 6” (7.9 million downloads).
