The 21st Annual Kung Pao Kosher Comedy Extravaganza is December 24th, 25th and 26th at the New Asia restaurant in San Francisco’s China Town featuring comedians Gary Gulman, Adrianne Tolsch, Samson Koletkar and MC’d by Lisa Geduldig.
Lisa started this traditional show 21 years ago in response to the question “what do Jews do on Christmas?” So now they go out for Chinese food and a comedy show.
Headliner Gary Gulman has appeared on pretty much all the late night television chat shows, he finished as runner-up in Seasons 2 and 3 of Last Comic Standing, he’s performed at zillions of colleges and comedy clubs, and he opened for Louis C.K. on his sold-out tour this year. This past year Gary was busy shooting the feature film Lucky Them (starring Toni Collette, Thomas Haden Church, and Oliver Platt) which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Samson Koletkar is the only Jewish Indian stand up comic around…he was born in Mumbai and raised Jewish. He got his Masters in Computer Software then moved halfway across the world to the technology headquarters and a hotbed for emerging comics: San Francisco…he joins me along with Lisa Geduldig to talk about comedy and the upcoming show.
