Now And Zen 2013: Larkin Poe
A regular fixture on radio charts across Europe and the backup band of choice for the likes of Elvis Costello and Sugarland’s Kristian Bush, Larkin Poe’s music is a unique brand of ‘swampadelic soul’ with tight vocal harmonies, dizzying instrumental riffs and insightful lyrics.
Born and raised in Georgia, sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell are the charismatic soul-singing/songwriting duo behind Larkin Poe. The sisters’ musical journey began at the ages of 5 and 6 playing classical violin and piano. In their early teens, they won a prestigious award on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion on NPR, which propelled them to tour internationally – performing on thousands of stages that include the O2 Arena in London, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, and the world-renowned Bonnaroo Festival.
Their debut album is slated for release in late 2013.
