Alice’s Summerthing 2013: Frequently Asked Questions

We just want you to have a good time. Shrug off the last couple of months and have a completely irresponsible day of play. You’re welcome to bring your own picnic basket, but, if you’re like the rest of us and don’t want to cook, you can purchase lunch and beverages from one of the many gourmet food trucks on site.

Do I Need Tickets?
No tickets are necessary. Alice’s Summerthing is FREE! Just show up for the show.

When do the doors open?
Doors open @ 11:00 am. Show starts at noon and ends around 5pm.

Approx. Set Times

What Happens if the Venue Reaches Capacity?
IF, by some chance we reach capacity in Sharon Meadow, we will close gates and allow people in as people leave. We don’t anticipate this happening, but we are mindful of safety and comfort for all concert goers.

What can’t I bring into the festival?
Sorry, no coolers or ice chests. Please, don’t bring long-legged lawn chairs, unless they are low profile lawn chairs that don’t exceed 6 inches. If you bring anything higher, you will be asked to strike it. As always: no glass, cans, glass bottles, alcohol of any kind, soft drinks, aerosol cans, video and/or audio recording, flyers or signs, Frisbees, laser pointers, lawn furniture, stickers, umbrellas, wagons, carts or tents may be brought into the festival area. Any items that event organizers consider usable as weapons will be confiscated. Dogs are allowed, but remember to have your four-legged friend on a leash and bring along water and treats. Sorry no reptiles allowed. Alice @ 97.3, on-site security and police reserve the right to inspect all containers brought onto the premises.

Items allowed:
Disposable Cameras or Digital Cameras, Low Profile Lawn Chairs. In order to minimize visual obstruction, we ask that the seat height for chairs not exceed 6 inches, small bags or backpacks, blankets, tote size umbrellas, ponchos or rain coats, seat cushions, snack or picnic food, bottled water. Strollers are permitted. Alice recommends you bring a hat and sunscreen because there is not much shade in Sharon Meadow.

Are there food and beverages sold on site?
Summerthing has lots of food options to purchase and choose from… and we sell soft drinks, water, wine and beer. And sometimes cocktails too! Proceeds from our alcohol and beverage sales help out the park!

Is there a Lost and Found area?
If you find something like cell phones, keys, purse, etc., please turn into the Alice Booth.

ADA Information:
Alice’s Summerthing is accessible to persons using wheelchairs and with other disabilities. Parking for the event will be located on Bowling Green Drive off of Lincoln Way, near the tennis courts before John F. Kennedy. There will be reserved parking spots with handicap accessibility and a designated entrance into the event from the parking lot. A security guard will be stationed near the area to direct you into the event. Just adjacent to the path, in the northwest corner of Sharon Meadow will be a platform made available only to disabled persons and their friends and families. Wheelchair accessible portable restrooms will be available at both the Kezar Drive and John F. Kennedy Drive entrances and also directly behind the designated handicapped seating area for your convenience. If you have any questions regarding this area while attending the festival there will be knowledgeable security guards available to assist you. We look forward to seeing you at Alice’s Summerthing 2013!

Ride your bike and have it valet parked. It’s free (cause we think you should be rewarded for cycling to the park) and located at the main entrance. Bike Valet provided by SF Bike Coalition.

What happens if it rains?
We all get wet! Summerthing will take place rain or shine.
