Alice has an amazing relationship with Ed Sheeran! We were the first station on this side of the pond to play and embrace his GRAMMY®-nominated single, “The A Team.” We were also the station he heard “The A Team” on for the first time in the US. The call was to request his own song – a request that Jayn was all to happy to play. Click here read the full story.
While still in town with Snow Patrol, Alice gave listeners a chance to meet Ed and watch an intimate acoustic performance. During the performance Ed also gave the background story behind “The A Team.” Sheeran explained that his inspiration behind the song came from an experience volunteering at a homeless charity during the holidays. The temporary shelter was set up in East London to house the homeless and provide health and lifestyle services, like Ed playing tunes for the residents. She could make the rules as long as she followed them. Click here read the full story.
Since that early visit Ed has continued to garner accolades and gain fans. He played “Wish You Were Here” at the London Olympics with Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, penned songs for One Direction, toured with none other than Taylor Swift, and performed at Alice’s Now & Zen Fest 2012 (See Photos)!
With millions of singles sold on “The A Team,” Alice is now playing the second single off his debut +, “Lego House.”
