For all those who were hoping Adele gave Chris Brown a tongue-lashing at Sunday night’s GRAMMY Awards, you’ll have to keep dreaming.

The 21 singer set the record straight about her alleged conflict with Brown yesterday (February 11) on Twitter.

Chris Brown and I were complimenting each other in that photo actually!

Reports started swirling that Adele scolded Brown for not standing up when singer Frank Ocean beat him out for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Brown’s decision to stay seated may have had something to do with the fact that earlier this month Ocean pressed charges against Brown for hitting him during an altercation over a parking spot. The charges have since been dropped.  
Though the original photo could be interpreted in several different ways, another photo of the two singers, looking quite chummy, seemed to refute any claims that Adele had previously put Brown in his place.

Brown later thanked Adele for setting the record straight.
