An Amazing Interview With Johnny Rzeznik Inside Jayn’s Office
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF/ALICE@97.3) – There’s a saying…”If you’re going through hell, keep going.” Early reviews of The Goo Goo Dolls’ tenth studio album, “Magnetic,” has been oddly referred to as an “upbeat and happy” album for a “Goo Goo Dolls” record. But in the eyes of frontman, Johnny Rzeznik, their distinctive music conveys a positive tone and an enduring will to always keep trying.
On The Goo Goo Dolls official website, Johnny said “I’m so proud of our new album, I’ve had such a great time and learned so much from the amazingly talented people who worked on it with me.” He continues, “I think that positive energy comes across on the songs. Writing and recording “Magnetic” changed my thinking about making music and doing it in a fun way.”
If their new single “Rebel Beat” is any indicator to previous Goo Goo Dolls music, then this album will no doubt pump out some definite hits.
While on a promotional tour, Rzeznik celebrated the upcoming release by stopping by the one place intimate enough for big names (such as Johnny Rzeznik). All captured on video, watch as he chats it up with Alice@97.3’s Jayn and perform two songs on another exclusive edition of “Live From Jayn’s Office.”
In Part 1 of their interview, a newly engaged Rzeznik sat down with Jayn and discussed the new album, “shugging” with a current President of The United States and a very special acoustic performance of “Rebel Beat.”
In Part II of “Live From Jayn’s Office,” the two talk about the different usage between the words “Genius” & “Amazing” and Johnny performs a classic Goo Goo Dolls song.
In the 90’s, the genius of The Goo Goo Dolls defined a generation. Today, they continue that genius by simply having amazing music.
The Goo Goo Dolls new album “Magnetic” will be released on May 7th. The debut single “Rebel Beat,” is being met with coast to coast excitement and will be available digitally on February 12th.
