While fans anxiously await Justin Timberlake’s upcoming album, they can rest easy knowing he’s back in the studio working with two artists who contributed to his highly successful FutureSex/LoveSounds, T.I. and Timbaland.
In an interview with MTV News, T.I. confirmed the rumor that the three are collaborating on Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience.
“I spoke to JT. Me, him and Tim was on the phone,” T.I. said. “I did a record for them at the end of last year. They were working on a record together, and I had the pleasure of assisting them on their particular record.”
T.I. further revealed that the track is called “Goodbye Homey” and that it’s about saying “goodbye to something that is very special to you.”
“Not necessarily a person; it could be a time of your life, it could be an experience, it could be a relationship, it could be a friend who’s passed on. ‘Goodbye Homey,’ it has so many meanings and definitions,” he said. “So when you hear it, you absorb it, and then whatever it means to you is what we intended.”
Jay-Z and Justin were spotted in Los Angeles late last week filming the video for their record-breaking single “Suit & Tie.” While photos leaked showing the two donned in expensive suits, Jay-Z’s Twitter told another story. Luckily for the two, some downtime was involved.
