A day after Instagram created mass hysteria with it’s new Privacy Policy Terms, they are trying desperately to rectify the situation. The new changes that would be taking effect on January 16th, 2013 state ”Instagram does not claim ownership of any Content that you post on or through the Service. Instead, you hereby grant to Instagram a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use the Content that you post on or through the Service.”   These rules are not something a user can opt out of, unless they delete their account. This launched a large outcry from Instagram users, and even started the twitter trend “Boycott Instagram” with many saying they would not continue to use Instagram. The full terms can be found here.

        Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom wrote in a blog that Instagram does not plan to sell your photos and that language that suggested your photos could be used in ads would be removed. Among all the confusion one thing is for sure, a once ad free Instagram will be no more. Even though it still remains to be seen what will become of these privacy policy terms, it’s important to note that while Instagram is the most popular, there are other photo apps you can use with cool filters. Some of which are Hipstamatic, Picyou, and Camera plus. I guess the last question that remains is #whatthehellisreallygoingon?
