American Conservatory Theater is currently presenting their traditional holiday show, “A Christmas Carol,” through December 24th at the Geary Theater. The rest of the 2012-2013 season: 4000 Miles, Dead Metaphor, Stuck Elevator, Black Watch, and Arcadia.

In addition to its productions, A.C.T. offers an MFA program. Graduates include Annette Benning, Denzel Washington, Elizabeth Banks and Benjamin Bratt. Darren Criss of Glee fame is a graduate of A.C.T.’s Young Conservatory. A.C.T. also offers classes for people who love to act but don’t necessarily want to make a career of it.

A.C.T. will be opening a second theater in 2014, located on Market Street…it’s the old Strand Theater.
