The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project was founded in 1998 by James Lecesne, Peggy Rajski and Randy Stone, the creators of the short film “TREVOR.”  Set in 1981, it’s the story of love and loss and learning to be yourself.

As the television air date was getting closer, the filmmakers realized that some viewers might be experiencing similar situations to that of the fictional Trevor character, a 13 year old boy in love with another 13 year old boy who did not return his affection…and those viewers might want to talk to someone after seeing the film… no such service seemed to be available so the filmmakers founded the Trevor Lifeline. That grew into the Trevor Project.

AJ Alvarez and Rebecca Chekkouras are Trevor Project Ambassadors in San Francisco.
