The 34 Annual Celebration of Craftswomen is November 24th and 25th and December 1st and 2nd at the Herbst Pavilion at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. It is a benefit for the Women’s Building, a multi-cultural community center where women and girls can achieve self-sufficiency and pursue their dreams.
The Celebration of Craftswomen is the only exclusively female art show in the country. This year over one hundred artists will be on site showing and selling their work.
On December 1st, The Celebration of Craftswomen launches a new program: A Celebration of Women and Film.
In this interview, I talk with show producer Leslie Edelman and participating artist Eileen P. Goldenberg about the upcoming event. I also talk with Suddha Pennathur, the CEO of a design and manufacturing company that employs artisans in India to create a number of products, including jewelry, clothing and ornaments. Every year, Suddha holds a special sale, Suddha’s Treasures, to benefit local charities. This year’s sale is November 10-11 and 16-18 at the Town Center in Corte Madera. Proceeds will go to Bread and Roses and Angel Island Conservancy.
