Christina Perri Dedicates ‘Jar Of Hearts’ To Alice Radio Onstage In Berkeley

Alice Radio was the first station in the country to play “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri, after it was featured on “So You Think You Can Dance” but before she was even signed to a record label!  It’s been played all over the world now, millions of times … but Christina never forgets where her “radio home” is.

So when Christina opened for Jason Mraz on October 4th at the Greek in Berkeley (one of my favorite venues in the world,)  I made it a point to be there to see her set and to get a chance to say hi to her backstage.  Little did I know that she had her own plan regarding Alice!
I was standing off to the side of the stage with two of my friends as Christina’s set wound down, and I knew she was almost done, but I had no idea what she was about to say as she went into “Jar of Hearts.”  I just stood there watching as she started talking, and cried and cried. To be there in that venue, with that artist saying what she said on stage… definitely one of the best nights of my entire career (and life.)  Needless to say, Christina – we love you back!
