The Killers Debut ‘Runaways’ Video – Escape Under The Starry Las Vegas Sky

As anticipation mounts for The KillersBattle Born, available September 18th, the Las Vegas foursome have just debuted a video to accompany the album’s first single.

In “Runaways,” visual effects are simple and elegant, featuring the band in nearly every shot. Lyrics are punctuated by simple graphics of a dusty road racing by, underneath the starry sky. Though the road’s flickering lines attempt to pull the viewer miles away from the band the leather clad frontman Brandon Flowers is never more than a few lyrics away.

Having produced videos for The Strokes and Daft Punk, director Warren Fu takes four rather simple stages, one featuring each band member, and masterfully fuses them together in the final notes of song.

The Killers are also determined to take over your social networks. To do this they’ve offered fans the opportunity to see the Battle Born album art before its revealed to the rest of the world. To receive the art, fans must complete four steps including sharing a link to their Facebook wall, sending the link to a friend, tweet a message and listen to “Runaways.” See The Killers’ App Facebook page for complete details.
