Prince William & Kate Middleton love her music so much they invited her to perform at their wedding reception. Skrillex likes her so much he started dating her. Ellie Goulding’s newest fans are just as unexpected — a Swedeish metal band called One Thought, who recently posted a metal cover of her song “Lights” on YouTube.
The pop singer seems to endorse their take on her track. She Tweeted it out to her followers on Thursday, July 12.
I know you all always wanted to hear a metal version of Lights so here it is youtube.com/watch?v=T9TMpc…

While Goulding credits UK rapper Tinie Tempah with introducing her to her royal fans, what in the world could have inspired this tribute from a metal band? One Without say it’s down to simple appreciation for a good song.
“We actually heard “Lights” for the first time just a few weeks ago, and were blown away by how good it was!” says guitarist Kenny Boufadene. “We instantly felt and heard the ‘metal undertones’ of the song, and figured we should try to make a cover of it. It worked out perfectly by simply speeding it up a bit, implementing growls, double bass drums and metal-guitars. We didn’t really re-arrange anything, as it was already so well-done, we just added our touch to it! Ellie is a really talented artist, and I’m glad people seem to appreciate our tribute to her great work!”
