Bay Area Storytelling Festival In Richmond May 19 & 20

The Bay Area Storytelling Festival is May 19th and 20th at a new venue, the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond. Master Storytellers will be presenting throughout both days…great entertainment for everyone! The kids under 9 years old may get too squiggly so perhaps find them an alternative activity while you enjoy the stories.

Ellen Augustine is on the board of directors of the Storytelling Association of California, the organization that presents this annual festival. She was invited to a storytelling festival years ago and has been hooked ever since!

Patrick Ball came to be a master storyteller through a fascinating story that he shared with me during our interview…it involves a slow boat to Manilla, a letter from home, and a passion for the written and spoken word. patrick is a master of the Celtic harp and shares stories from the Irish oral tradition.

Along with Patrick, Beth Horner and Gene Tagaban will present their stories and music. And the showcase storytellers this year will be Michael Katz and Jill Johnson.
