For a vegan, Moby offers serious red meat on “The Poison Tree,” one of the new tracks exclusive to the new deluxe edition of Destroyed. Plus, the electronic-dance pioneer gives us a sampling of his favorite tracks he likes to play in a DJ set!
But, first let us tell you about the deluxe version to his latest album Destroyed released on November 1st (Mute Records).
Taken from the 3-disc set that includes unreleased tracks, live footage and music videos, “The Poison Tree” was originally first heard via the digital music compilation, Download For Good: Music That Changes The World to benefit a non-profit organization by the David Lynch Foundation. But unlike most of the gentle, electronic tones found in Destroyed, “The Poison Tree” combines thumping non-Western rhythms with quite Western (read: hipster) fragile vocals. In short, it’s NY world-tinged art-rock with a colorful country-folk twist.
