Erasure is in town tonight and I am COMPLETELY nerded out about it. The photo above of[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Erasure[/lastfm] in the Alice Acoustic Lounge isn’t an accurate representation of the kind of band they are. But I still would have killed to work here when it happened. Check out my top 10 [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Erasure[/lastfm] songs and I will see YOU tonight at the FOX!!
This list isn’t based on any stats, sales or polls. This is one superfan’s (read: MY) top ten list of the greatest[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Erasure[/lastfm] songs ever. If you are are a fan, you will totally get it. If you have never heard of them, here is your chance to get into it!
In 1988 I was a sophomore in high school and my sister’s keeper. She had me by a couple of years, so she drove, and I kept her out of trouble. At the time, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Erasure [/lastfm]was a band I didn’t know much about, with a new album called “The Innocents” She wore that tape(yes…I said tape) out wherever we went. Soon, her favorites, became my favorites. The only awkwardness happened when I (in my love for their music) bought an [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Erasure[/lastfm] concert CD and proceeded to crank it up in the family room. Let’s just say my Dad gave me a sideways look when he found me dancing around the room watching[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Andy Bell[/lastfm] in a gold lame wrestling suit prancing around men in speedos. Needless to say, I returned the video. But the spirit of Erasure lives on! Enjoy the list, and send me your favorites!
10. “Phantom Bride”
The Innocents 1988.
A love story. Video from the WILD! tour at Shoreline. I was too poor to go.
