Thirty-four years after his sudden death, fans of Elvis still flock to his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee to mourn the King.
Last night thousands of people with candles in hand, walked in the humid night to Elvis’s grave at Graceland. Flower arrangements and heart-shaped wreaths decorated the burial site as some of Elvis’s songs played softly in the background. Some fans had waited for hours outside the mansion for the procession to begin. The vigil lasted past midnight, marking the anniversary of the King’s death on Aug. 16, 1977. The vigil is the main draw of “Elvis Week.”
