In a brilliant casting move, Lenny Kravitz has been tapped for a role in the movie version of Suzanne Collins’s young adult best-seller, The Hunger Games.  Which character will he be?  

[photogallerylink id=68015 align=left]Lenny will fill the glamorous shoes of stylist to the District 12 tributes, Cinna.  I’m very excited to see him as Cinna, who just happens to be my favorite character in the trilogy.  Woody Harrelson has been cast as Haymitch Abernathy, and Stanley Tucci will be Caesar Flickerman *squeeee!

Also, set for filming is Josh Hutcherson, who is far from what I picture for the beautiful blonde Peeta, (I wanted Armie Hammer.)  But I loved Josh in The Kids Are Alright, so… I’ll give him a chance to impress me in the role of the dreamy baker.  Donald Sutherland will play President Snow.   Jennifer Lawrence will play the story’s heroine, Katniss Everdeen, and apparently there’s been all sorts of controversy about it because she’s blonde.  One thing is for certain, the blondes in the movie better look believably blonde and the brunettes believably brunette.  Make-up Department, please do not hand me the Twilight-version of blonde.  Yuck.
